January 29, 1866 that the affairs of the Bureau in his Sub District are progressing quietly & favorably, the feeling between whites & blacks is gradually improving, Farmers are pleased with the way Freedmen have been working, Few instances of complaint have been made by Farmers - & he believes with reason.
