? Office of Asst Supt. - Sub Dist of Spottsylvania County Fredericksburg Va. July 31st 1866 Roberts, W.G. Lieut and Asst Supt, In obedience to Circular No 6. reports the affairs of the Bureau are not in a very good condition. There is considerable ill feeling existing between the whites & blacks. The Freedmen are generally working very well. In Fredericksburg the Freedmen are mostly very poor, living in dirty tenements which they neglect to keep clean. will try and remedy the evil. Is apprehensive of trouble this fall, when the Freedmen commence gathering crops. Bureau R.F. & A.L. Office Supt 6th. District. Va. Fredericksburg Va.
