I have the honor to make the following report of Freedmens affairs in the County of Mecklenburg Va for the month ending the 31st day of July 1866.

They Freedmen (with few exceptions) are working industriously and living up to their contracts, I have heard of no destitution amongst the Colored people of this county but on the contrary many of them are living as independent as any class of laborers can live.

They White people (with few exceptions) are well disposed towards the Colored people, harmony and good feelings seem to exist between the White and Colored people of this County.

Their is no epidemic or contagious disease amongst the Colored people of this County.
