manifesting much interest in the cause of education. I have taken it upon myself to supply such as want them with books, furnished by the "Am Trust society" at cost price. Many buy them for their children, and some seem anxious to learn themselves. A "day" and "night" school has been established in this county at Ashland, under the auspices of the colored church of that place.  A young colored man, formerly engaged as Teacher in the schools at Richmond, is employed as Teacher. His charges are 30 cts per month for each scholar whether for day or evening. The school is but just established: and it is therefore partially an experiment, but it gives promise of much success. I give what aid and encouragement I can by obtaining and supplying books at wholesale prices, and otherwise,
