Monthly Report of 2" Lieut Jacob Roth V.R.C Assistant Supt Bureau of R.F. and A.L. for the Sub District County of Louisa State of Virginia — in relation to the general Business of the Bureau, as called for in Circular No 6 . C.S. dated Hd Qrs Asst Commissioner for the State of Virg. Richmond Va Jany 27 1866 for the month ending Sept 30. 1866.

The month of September it appears to me, has been the most peaceable month, That while on duty at the freedmens Bureau, a single case of interruption of the Law has been reported to me yesterday, which case I hope will be duly examined by Mr David Eastham J.P. of the 1" Magt. District of this County, to whom I have refered the same; and acted upon it according to the evidence.

Having made the registry of the married freed people of this County, 1060 have to this hour come forward to give their names, but still I expect 200 marriages are behind as my proceedor Capt. Ashworth hat 1260 marriages on his record. Among them behind, such as were sick and unable to come forward, were some which were prevented commming to the Court House, by their Employers
