Reports in compliance with Circular No 6 C.S. The crops are turning out much better than expected all hands are busy saving fodder and Tobacco and comparatively few complaints made. The feeling existing between the whites and freedmen is improving, and a feeling gaining daily in favor of educating freedmen.
The County Court has granted the first license to a colored man to solemnize the rites of matrimony.
That three of four lawyers have volunteered their services in cases before the Court and defended the freedmen and one deserter from the rebel army and a U.S. soldier was in one Jury. Mentions this as all evidence of growing feeling in favor of Justice to freedmen.
