Hd. Qurs. Asst. Supt. 8th. Dist. Va.
Christiansburg, Montgomery Co. Va.
October 25th. 1866.

Bvt. Brig. Genl. O. Brown
A.A.A.G.

General,
I have the honor to make the following Report relative to the affairs of the Bureau, in my Sub District, comprising the Counties of Montgomery, Pulaski and Giles, in the 8th Dist. of Va. during the past month.

Nothing of special interest has transpired since my last Report. The Freedmen very generally are faithfully laboring for the support of themselves and Families and very few complaints have been made of injustice done them by the whites. No cases of violence or cruel treatment have come to my notice.

Very Respectfully
Your Obt. Servant
