In accordance with Cir No 6 Bureau R F & A L Hd Qrs. Asst Comr Va Richmond, Va, January 29th 1866. I have the honor to report that the condition of Bureau affairs in this Sub Dist continues favorable. 

The crops have proven so successful that there will probably be little or no suffering among the masses of the colored people during the coming winter. Already contracts are being made for the coming year; and so far as I have learned the terms offered are liberal. The state of feeling between the whites and freedmen continues friendly, evincing mutual confidence and auguring well for the future. 

Those who have hitherto been fed by the government are undoubtedly in many cases
