The crops raised in this County are excellent, both in quality and quantity, the Freedmen receive a fair compensation for their services. There are but few complaints, of differences arising, between the employer and the laborer. Cases of injustice and oppression of the Freedmen, are reported occasionally, but not of such number or of such importance, as to materially effect the general aspect, of affairs, which I consider favorable and likely to improve.

I am Gen,
Very Respectfully,
Your Obdt Servant.

D. Jerome Connolly,
Brvt Capt U.S. Vols.
Asst Supidt.
