The Month ending this the 31st day of October 1866. I have to say has passed more quiet and more peaceable, as even I expected, taking in consideration, the stopping of The the issue of Govt. ration. The fall Settlement of many employers with their employer, and last the erection of the freedmens School at this place. such things used to make frequently disturbance it dit not her. A' few small not at all important Civil Matters have been reported to me, & were by me usually refered to Civil authority, and there the complainent not having returned again, such cases I take it as granted were also finaly settled to satersfaction of Plaintiffs and Defendants. It is much talking and not without reason, of a very small crops throughout this County, & theirfor expectation of heavy suffering among the freedmen during the aproching Winter & Spring.
