as far, when the employers will let them have a good Share of the Crops, as they left them on the work of Cultivation, and no doubt the majority at least will do it.

According to arrangement made the County will take care of the poors, either by taking them into the poorhouse or by having them partial assisted at their homes; but if in fall an account of scarcity of provision a general Call should be made by the freedman, it would be rather doubtfull whether the County would be able to provide for to great a number. At present the call by poors for support on the County is not heavy, and toward the Government for ration it has allmost entirely died away. I shall forward with this report a requisition for provision to be issued in Special Cases.

The marriage registry of the freed people of this County is down now to the no. 1209 Marriages, also a considerate number of Widowers, & still some will come in to have their names taken during the next Month (Nov.) coming I shall commence to take the Census.

Very respectfully,
Your Obedient Servant
