Respty returned to the Maj: Genl Comdg Dept Va with the remark that as far as I can learn, Mrs. Constable, with her family left Norfolk, before the occupation of the City by the Federal forces and, in my opinion, is now a thorough going rebel.

The furniture referred to was taken from her house, (which I at first occupied as quarters when assigned to duty at Norfolk) and removed to the one now occupied by Capt Low, by consent of Major Hudson, Treasy Agt and receipted for to him.

I distinctly told Mrs. Constable, that when her furniture was no longer needed, as now used, it would probably be returned to the Freedmen's
