Mr Link reports that all machinery not in use was turned over to Aiken by the former Supt of the Mill_ Mr Aiken still claims the main shaft of the Shingle Mill_

Respty refd to Capt A. S. Flagg Asst QM &c_ I have made a careful investigation of the premises applied for and find them rented of the Freedmens Bureau at an annual rent of Five hundred dollars by Five (5) Cold men_ Two of the Tenants with their families occupy two (2) rooms in the house and have no place to go to if removed_ The cutting of wood was stopped as soon as it came undre my notice_

Respty forwd to Col O. Brown &c with the additional informatino that Mrs Jones has the occupancy of all but two rooms and has purchased from the tenants sixty (60) acres of the crops

Flagg &c_ The freedmen will be removed from the dwelling house of Mrs Jones, provided she will furnish them with as good quarters elsewhere_ The Freedmen will not otherwise be disturbed until the expiration of their lease, unless it should be decided that the property was not abandoned, in which case the property will be restored to its owner. upon her making satisfactory arrangements with the Freedmen for their crop_ The cutting and selling of wood by the Freedmen will be stopped at once_
