230 231 King William Co Va Aug 8th 1865 Respectfully forwarded to Henry Catt who will proceed to Richmond with the child herein mentioned and report to Col Browns Hd Qrs (Sgd) O.L Pride Asst Supt P.S. Evans writes a 2d letter to O.L. Pride stating that Mr Carr had reported to Hd Qrs and that he (Carr) stated that he knew nothing of Rachel Berkly and her grandchild. Requests O.L Pride to satisfy himself as to the truth or falsity of Carr's statements and return the paper to Capt Flagg with endorsement.
