Regarding a son of Eliza, former slave of his, her son was sold some six years ago to a Mr Bryant &c &c

Respectfully forwarded to Col. O. Brown Asst Comr, with the statement that the within named Eliza (Jackson) complains that after her son had left Mr Bryant the Pro' Mar' (Lt Minor) at Columbia Fluvana [[Fluvanna]] Co has had her arrested and brought from her home (7 miles distant) to his office three times &. kept her confined in the guard house about 5 days - as he said to compel her to tell where her son was, which she was unable to do, not having seen or heard of him since he run away from Mr Bryant. That he (the Pro' Mar') finally released her threatening if she did not produce this Boy within ten days, she should be again confined until he was found & returned to Mr Bryant.
