"I am of the opinion that Mr Thomas is responsible for the whole. he keeping a rum shop and furnishing whiskey to these men. These men agreed to work for the R.R. Co. for $5. per month & board which was recently raised to $8, per month. The road Master was on his way to pay these men with others"
