The farm known as "Lansdown" is leased to 41 colored men who are cultivating 357 acres at a rent of 311 barrels of corn, The balance of the cleared land is used for pasturage,
The farm known as "Briarhurst" is leased to 33 tenants, who cultivate 196 acres, at a rent of 93 1/2 barrels of corn. most of the farming implements on both these farms are in possession of the Bureau, or used by the tenants,

Fort Monroe Va Sept 22d 1865Aasst Comr &c State of Va with the recommendation that the within petition be granted, on the condition that no rents be allowed the petitioner. but that all personal property on the place formerly belonging to the petitioners be given up, and the Gov't and col'd people have the undisturbed possession of what they occupy until Jan 1st 1866 and also the right to remove all their buildings and other property crops &c. during that time
