The logs can be cut at the mills before being removed. Mr. Hunt wishes to manufacture only the logs decided by a "Board of Survey" appointed by Maj Gen'l Miles✓ as belonging to Gov't having him cut before the date of Mr Youngs pardon.

Resp'y returned - This matter must be decided by Capt Wilder✓. The mills that have been restored to their owners cannot be taken again. It is hoped that Capt Wilder can make a profitable arrangement for the Bureau but no further outlay on Saw Mills is advisable.
