I have the honor to forward the following report for the month ending October 31st 1866 - And state that the affairs pertaining to the Bureau of R. F. & A.L. remain much the same as when I forwarded my last monthly report -

I have made several separate report during the last month in relation to such matters of interest as have come under my notice, As I have previously informed you J.C. Johnson the murderer of Patrick Thompson (Freedman) has been released to the civil authorities and has left for some unknown place -

The schools for the Freedmen children have not yet been opened, some of the teachers are here and I am informed will open their school in a few days -

The Freedpeople have purchased a building in the town to use as a school house I trust the Govmt will give them some assistance
