care of them, they will necessarily suffer, from starvation.

The County authorities say they will take care of their poor, respectively, regardless of color, but as their levies were made, at a time, when it was not, understood, that the colored paupers, would be sent, to them, as as that levy, was made with exclusive reference to the white paupers, how can they take care of the colored?  They are not doing it, and from present indications, will not be able, to relieve the wants, of their white paupers, for some time.

The Schools, are in flourishing condition. and tolerably well attended - I hope to be able, to organize additional schools in each county ere long. - The freedmen, are manifesting renewed interest, in the more perfect organization, of their schools, and prefer to have them, under local management.
