I have not heard of an instance where a freedman has been misused in any way. 

The freedman are about ending a yearly contract & they are confident of a prompt settlement  they are receiving offers for the year 67.  Some have engaged at (150.00) one hundred & fifty dollars & board which they think is a fair compensation for their labor

In every case where freedmen have appeald to the Civil Authorities for redress they have receivd justice & their testimony allowed.

The freedmen school in this Dis is doing well & going forward there is no disposition to prevent the children from tending day or night School Some children that are out at Service are sent
over
