a determination to direct their attention to stock raising in case they are unable to employ the labor they require in which case they will only raise produce sufficient for their own use. 

If this determination is adhered to to any extent many Freedmen who depend upon their day labor alone will be unable to get sufficient employment to enable them to support their families and much suffering will be the result

Some of the Freedmen have saved money during the past year those who have been economical have saved from 50.00 to 115.00 besides supporting and clothing themselves and families.
