There have been no complaints made by the Freedmen of injustice or cruelty towards them to my knowledge, they are doing as well as could be expected and seem to be very well satisfied with their share of the crops although some received but a small amount for their share there being so many laborers to each farm, a great many of the Farmers prefer hiring laborers for the coming year by paying them money wages but the Freedmen prefer working in shared on the crops as they say they can make more than they can by working for money wages, as the Farmers will not pay more than
