General:
I have the honor to report the condition of Bureau Affairs remain the same as in last report. The Freedmen are generally employed at fair wages. In the city they are mostly living comfortably. But few cases of extreme destitution being reported. In those places in the County where the Freedmen have rendezvoused upon lands held by the Govt. and when there are more living than can find employment there is much destitution and want. These have been relieved as much as was within our power. This relief has been mostly in issuing clothing to those most in want. To these have been issued during the month 241 pairs of Pants, 170 Blankets, 112 pairs of Shoes, 106 Shirts and 54 Great Coats. Besides this amount from the Bureau they have been assisted by the American Missionary Association to Clothing for women and children and in some cases to money. This assistance has prevented a
