Statement of Lyttleton Jackson a colored man. I was standing in front of the Freedmens School House. The teacher, Mr George H Morse was there and started to go away while passing the store of Mr. B. Washington there were a number of young men that hooted at Morse then dodged into the store. One of the party Edward Colongue Town sergeant of Warrenton threw a stone at the teacher and came near hitting him Just after that some one of the party said to Mr Morse "You had better look out or some of these fellows will knock you in the head". Mr Morse then passed on and out of my sight Lyttleton Jackson Sworn and Subscribed before me this the 24th day of January 1867 W.S. Chase 2d Lt V.R.C. & Asst Supt
