instance where the freedman has been complained of or failed to serve out his time. I think that the freedman's affairs in the Sub-District of Prince Wm. Co. have been and are now remarkably quiet and satisfactory. There is very little sickness, or suffering or hardship resulting from injustice of white people, and general industry and prosperity prevail. More freedmen might thrive than are now here.
