The following is a rare exception to the general rule. A gentleman formerly an extensive Slave owner and strong "Secesh" has applied for a School teacher offering board and house provided he can have a colored one and have complete control of them. Efforts are making to provide him with one providing the "control" which he desires does not violate "rights," hoping that he will soon advance further and ask for a good teacher without regard to color or the condition of "control"

The question is asked can these people take care of themselves. I answer yes, when all obstacles to their advancement are removed when they are fully and justly protected by law in all their rights against the oppression of wealth and the injustice of prejudice when all the avenues to education and the acquirement of property are fully
