General - I have the honor to make the following report in reference to the Affairs of the Bureau in my Sub District, comprising the Counties of Montgomery, Pulaski, and Giles, 8th Dist. Dept. of the Potomac, for the month of February 1867.

Throughout this entire Sub District the Freedmen continue to labor faithfully for their Employers, having in many cases entered into contract for twelve months, with compensation varying from one to two hundred dollars per annum.  These are also furnished with suitable food and quarters, and in a number of instances have a small portion of the land, to cultivate for their own benefit.  This however is only applicable to the male portion of the community-
