I have the honor to make the following report of Bureau Affairs for the month of February 1867. 

There are now two large and flourishing day schools in this sub. dist. also the same no. of night classes. It is most astonishing to note how eager the Freedmen are, not only to learn themselves, but to have their children taught, before the school was established here they were willing, and in some instances did pay, the most exorbitant price to any who would aid them in this respect. —— There is still a decided disinclination to give the Freedmen their just dues, without an appeal to the Legal powers, and in some cases the amt. would not be adequate to defray
