Pursuant to Cir No. 6. (series 1866) Hd. Qrs. Asst. Com. Va. I have the honor to report condition of Bureau affairs in this county.

The educational interests of the freed people are being attended to as thoroughly as practicable, and the various schools are in a flourishing condition. That the advantages of education are beginning to be realized and appreciated, is evidenced in the greater facility with which they are induced to emigrate to those localities where schools are already established, in preference to going where no such provision is
