Three farms have been purchased and are being worked in New Kent County, by Northern Men who are well received by the people generally; but one case of insult has been [[strikethrough]] offered [[/strikethrough]] reported which is that of John P. Pearce who was arrested by order of Gen. Terry charged with participating in the attack on Mr. Wilson U.S. Asst. Assessor of Int. Revenue, at New Kent Co. Va., in June last, who took umbrage at the action of the U.S. Officers in that case and vents his spleen in this way.

There has been no further action by the Freedpeople about establishing schools.
