I have the honor to report the "General Condition of Affairs" for this Co as follows. 

The suffering has been very much relieved since the return of warm weather, and the opening of crop season, which furnishes employment to those able to work. 

These has been distributed from this farm, in small quantities, around 400 lbs corn meal, to relieve temporary distress. There has also been furnished to Norfolk Co about 175 lbs corn meal.

The whole number of Rations issued during the month is 580 including 84 rations to employees.

But one class of persons have received the same, the "Old Folks"

Small Pox has broken out on the west side of the Elizabeth River, and rages to some extent  no new case has been reported on the this side of the river, the one reported last month has recovered, with that exception the Sanitary Condition of the Co is good. 

Two deaths have been reported to me, that of females, old age probably the cause, for which, coffins and burial places have been furnished on this farm.

The Farmers have commenced operation for the year, and they generally prophecy a good season. More land will be taken in, and a
