Deposition of William Turner taken by JF Figgat
A Justice of the Peace, after he was shot July 12 1867

Qestion - Where were you standing when shot?
Answer - At Wm Comptons Corner
Qestion - Who were shooting?
Ans. - Harry Stiles, Harry Alexander and two students, they also fired up in the air, the students had a bottle of whiskey and said Harry is that you? and took out the bottle and told him to take a drink, that they were going away in the morning they then took out their pistols and shot up in the air just after those two shots I was shot.  Jacob Rahlo saw the students standing there
Qestion - Who were by you when you were shot.
A. - Andy Perth, Harry Alexander, Marshall Dilsworth, Saul Alexander John H Gaines; and Jacob Kohler was passing by
Q - How long was it after Harry Alexander - Harry Stiles and the two students fired before you were shot
A - About five minutes I reckon
Q - Do you know how many pistols were fired before you were shot
A - There were six fires, four by the colored boys and two by the students
