No. 3

As I was coming home on the R.R. track last evening (Monday February 18th 1867) a man named Wm Sprouse who is a fireman on the Va Central R.R. and runs to Richmond attacked me and attempted to violate my person. He struck me and threw me down and beat me and pulled up my clothes and said "D--n you I am going to --- you" He got on to me and tried to hold me, but I screamed and fought him so that he let me go and ran away. There was a colored girl with me whom he attacked first but she was near home and got away from him. I had further down the track to go and he caught me.
