So many Freedmen have left this Sub-Dist. that the farmers find it very difficult to procure labor sufficient to work their farms; applications are made to me almost daily for laborers.

Schools are very much needed in this Sub-Dist. for the Freedmen, not one has as yet been started in either of the three counties.
