The Freedmen whose business it is to gather Oysters, have had a severe time to obtain a living during this month, in consequence of the almost continuous storm, the weather is now better, and as the Fishing season is about to begin, it is beleived this class of freedmen will be able to support themselves and thier families comfortably. 

The feeling existing between the Whites and the Freedmen is generally cordial, this feeling on the part of the Whites is undoubtedly caused by selfish interest rather than from any love they bear the Freedmen.
