The freedmen are rejoicing over this new liberty they possess, and will vote it is thought straight for men most favorable to their ideas at the coming elections.  The white are somewhat more guarded in their expressions of the inferiority of Blacks to Whites - especially in the presence of the Blacks - since the suffrage.  The blacks - those who are most intelligent - seem to understand this and laugh considerable about it.
 
On the whole each race mistrust each other and hate while they play the agreeable.
