General.
I have the honor to state that in making my report in compliance with Circular No. 6. I omitted to mention the condition of Freedmens Schools in my Sub Dist. I desire to do now what should have been done in the body of my report above referred to.

The school recently established at Sperryville Rappahannock Co. Va is I learn progressing uninterruptedly and has about 30 pupils. I secured for this place the services of a colored Teacher named Peter Lawson, who was reccommended, to me by Frederick H. Bruce Esq. (loyal) Asst Assr US Inter Rev. I was fortunate in obtaining his Services, he is a very capable teacher. I have partially arranged for the establishment of another school at "Crooked Run" in this County $150.00 having been already raised for the purpose of putting up a school house. I shall be able to locate a school also at Washington Rappahannock County seat by next fall, plans having been already set on foot for such a purpose at that point. Colored Teachers will be secured and Each of these places will by next year be entirely self supporting.

The school at this point continues to prosper. No
