In compliance with Circular No VI, from Head Quarters, Asst. Comr., Bureau of R.F.& A.L. State of Va, dated at Richmond, Va, Jany 29th, 1866, I have the honor to submit the following "Report" showing the condition of "Freedmens affairs" in this sub-district for the month of March 1867.

It gives me peculiar pleasure to be able to state, that as a general thing, public sentiment toward the freedmen, is gradually opening a more seasonable aspect - This is being manifested by the interest taken in the cause of education, as well as in every other movement, which in any degree affects the interests of the colored
