I have the honor to report as follows concerning the condition of Freedmen's affairs in this Co. during the month of March.
The general condition of the freedmen is prosperous, and with few exceptions they are all profitably employed. But two or three applications for aid have been made during the month and in every case these were women with families who were temporarily out of employment.
On last court day I presented the case of Wyatt M. Jackson, Constable, to the Grand Jury for refusing to serve warrants for the arrest of parties who had committed assaults upon negroes, and obtained an indictment against him, to be tried before the next term of the circuit court. 
In the case of Strother and Follier the Civil authorities refused to take any action and I have referred it on a special report dated Mch 18th to Capt S.P. Lee recommending that it be brought before the military authorities.
During the month there have been nine schools in successful operation. The accompanying reports of the teachers show an aggregate attendance of 470 scholars. The commencement of farming operations will
