doubtless reduce the attendence hereafter.  New school houses are being built at Langley and near Anandale.  The school at this place is now closed for want of a school-house.  A new one will be built as soon as lumber can be obtained from the Bureau.

My term of service as Asst. Supt. expenses to-day, hence I herewith transfer all books and papers connected with this office to your keeping.  I believe you will find everything in proper order - yet I shall take pleasure in explaining anything you do not understand, and shall at all times be ready to aid you in promoting the welfare of the freedmen.
