Their present place of worship is entirely too small for their church purposes and besides this it is only a temporary arrangement and they (the Congregation) are liable to be deprived at any time of a place of worship. I earnestly recommend that the suggested arrangement be authorized and made as soon as is practicable.
Considerable destitution yet prevails among the aged & inform colored people. every precaution is taken to prevent imposition and also to encourage idleness by assuring these people that if they are unable to take care of themselves the Gov't will not let them suffer. Rations are issued only to the destitute & inform and only to those who are incapable of providing for their own wants by reason of old age or some other satisfactory cause.
