ready employment is found for all who are disposed to work, and the freedmen avail themselves of the opportunity and as a general thing are all to work.
The farmers in this section of the county complain that they cannot get the freedmen to come to this section, and that they need more help. Before the war the people in this section were generally considered a hard masters, and this very likely has a great deal to do with the freedmen not coming here.
Several northern people have settled in this vicinity and are engaged in running Saw Mills and Farming, and it is a remarkable fact that they get all the labor they desire.
The feeling between the whites and blacks improves, and a better disposition is shown to treat the freedmen fairly.
The freedmen are quiet orderly and industrious. All of which I would respectfully submit
