I have the honor to transmit the enclosed reports of Ass Sub Asst. Comrs. of my District. I would respectfully call attention to the Will case of the Fergeson heirs, vs the Fox and Blackwell estate, refered to in the Report of Lt. Chase, and to the suggestion of Judge Thomas and Lt Chase on the subject.

I would also call attention to a "Murder Case" reported by Capt Smith Asst Sub. Asst Comr. of Loudoun Co, and to his recommendation.

The different Counties in the 10th Sub. District report the condition of Freedmen, good and prosperous.

In Alexandria County, there have been presented 18 case of complaints of various kinds, such as indebtedness, disagreement between parties, failures to meet engagements, and fulfill contracts &c. all of which have been amically settled, without refering them to the Civil Authorities for adjustment. In six Criminal cases refered to Civil Courts, justice has been impartially rendered the parties.

The Freed people of this County, are doing as well as may be expected where so large a number are collected. We have sent to Homes secured for them, for the Month of April, twenty nine Freedpeople, While there have been 68 applications for servants, showing an excess of 39 above the supply.

Since the 1st of Jan. 1867, until April 1st a period of four Months there have been 959, (nine hundred fifty nine) applications for Servants, and although every efforts and influence have been used to effect it, the supply
