In compliance with Circular No 6. dated January 29, 1866, reports the state of feeling existing between the whites and blacks is gradually improving. No cases of assault or outrage have occurred during the month of May. The freedmen are fully informed as to thier political rights and the necessity for the registration of thier names in order that they may be entitled to vote.
