for an honest livelihood. The Whites are exhibiting a disposition generally, to treat them kindly, and deal with them fairly, and so far as I have been able to discover, there is a good state of feeling between the two races. All school that are opened are well attended, the Blacks appear to be alive to the importance of industry and education, and the Whites are becoming aroused to the importance of assisting them to build up their people. In short, there is an appearance that the two races, pecuniarily, feel that they are dependent upon each other.
