State of Virginia

Sir
In compliance with Circ. No 6 series 1866, I have the honor to report as follows

Sanitary condition of county: good, no diseases of a contagious character having been reported, and in fact there has been but very little sickness of any kind

The number of Rations issued during the month is sixty-two (62) all of which were issued to white destitutes.

But one application has been made to this office during the last month, by the Freedmen for Relief (Ford) the applicant being an old resident of the Co, a request was made to the Board of Overseers of the Co to provide for the same, which was approved.

Twenty Five (25) white persons (adults) and Thirty children have made application for relief under the late appropriation by Congress, the greater portion of them are widows and orphans made so by the late war.

No provision is made by the Co authorities to relieve these cases unless the applicant will go to the Alms House, the most of them are in a very destitute condition
