being willing and well disposed to provide for all cases that may be brought to their notice.

The State of Feeling existing between the Whites and the Freedmen seems to be improving, a better feeling is existing now than I have before noticed, and at a meeting of the Freedmen at this place a short time since, there seemed to be a feeling of reconciliation take place between the two races, the meeting being largely attended by the Whites, who are now perfectly convinced that the Freedmen are entitled to the same rights and privileges as they are, and that they will be sustained in them.

The Schools are in a prosperous condition, and the Freedmen are very eager to improve their minds by learning to read and write, and every leisure moment from their labor is improved in this manner.
