No report of oppression or of injustice has been made to me during the month of May

In this 2d Division the demand rather exceeds the supply of labor which gives the Freedmen steady employment & promt payment and kind treatment

The freedmen are doing all in their power to support and educate themselves independently of the whites there is a growing disposision to organize themselves into Societies for the purpose of tending the sick and burying the dead  These Societies are well attended & all instructive to the freedmen to learn the posision they are occupying now & they are all instructing themselves as to
