Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands
HEADQUARTERS SUB ASST. COM'R, 10th SUB DIST., STATE OF VIRGINIA.
Alexandria, Va, May 31st 1807

Capt Garrick Mallery
A. A. A. Genl.

Capt:-
In compliance with Circular No. 6. dated Hd-Qrs, Asst. Commr. Va. Richmond Va. Jany 29th 1866. I have the honor to report that the condition of Bureau affairs in Alexandria Co. Va is at present as good as could be expected, the only suffering is among some poor women with children, who not being able to support their families are obliged to draw subsistence from the Bureau. The state of feeling at present existing between the whites and the freedmen is good, very little difficulty arising between them, and that generally by some misunderstanding that is easily settled.
I am Captain
Very Respectfully
Your obd't Serv't
S.P. Lee
